Stand Firm!

Keep up the good work. No one should have a job because they are tenured or belong to a union. Employees should have more than a pulse to get a paycheck. Reward job performance, not time on the job. Unions are out-of-touch with reality.

Education

A good teacher can't be paid enough, but, anything paid a bad teacher is too much. Unions do not promote good education. Too many good young teachers leave teaching because the union is protecting the tenured teacher.

Merit For Good Teachers

These are tough times calling for difficult measures and budget cuts. One nice thing about limiting coll. bargaining is that good teachers will not be laid off, bad teachers will be held accountable. Score one for the kids.

I Support Your Efforts

I support your efforts to minimize union's power to exploit their neighbors, the educational system, the political system, taxpayers, children, and students of all ages. Unions have become too powerful and too corrupt.

Unions Are Un-American

Companies are not allowed to form monopolies, for good reason. Except for labor -- they're called unions. Legalized monopolies. Unions are like a cancer that untimately kills their host and themselves.

Better For The Kids

I am a member of the AFt. I know the pros and cons of the union. I am in favor of our Governor's proposal. The unions have too much power and create inflexible conditions. Education and services will strengthen when union power weakens.

We'll All Be Watching

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out over time - and who really benefits from this. If it is budget motivated, that's a good thing and will show in time, if it's about corporate backing, that will come out too, in time.

I am saddened by the stupidity of those who think unions are the threat. Believe me, it is the corporations that are in bed with most of our congress people and we must make changes soon or we will no longer have a middle class nor a democracy.
